Help - Adding/Editing Manufacturers

Manufacturers are the people who make the beatiful objects that populate the pages of this website. Whenever we talk about a manufacturer here, we always try to use the original manufacturer of the object. Classic objects fall out of copyright so that additional manufacturers can copy the objects. There is nothing wrong with this, and if they can do it at a cheaper price then all is well because it enables good design to be enjoyed by the widest audience.

However, we do try to acknowledge the original manufacturer who would have worked directly with the designer to ensure that the finished product matched the designers intentions as much as possible, preserving the purity of the design.

To add a manufacturer, go to the menu at the top right of the screen, and point at the Add option, then select Manufacturer from the drop down menu.

When you are adding a designer, you will have to provide an image of them. Please see image help for more information about adding pictures), a name and a description of them - like a mini biography, and hopefully a link to their corporate website.

After providing this basic information, click the save button. The information will then be saved into the database. You will then be taken directly to rhe edit screen where you can attach more detailed information, such as the designer, the manufacturer, and the films that the object has appeared in.

There is nothing else to do to add a designer. Whenever you add them to an object, the system will automatically update their page with the items they have created, and the manufacturers they have worked with.
